Acropolis Walls

The Byzantine walls of Thessaloniki are today about 4 kilometers long, but the original perimeter they covered was 8 kilometers and their height was 10-12 meters.The wall for many centuries surrounded the city . It is in the center of the city and forms the central point of the city's market which encompasses over several blocks.

Alaca Imaret Mosque

Alaca Imaret Mosque or Ishak Pasha Mosque literally the "colourful mosque", is a 15th-century Ottoman mosque in Thessaloniki, Greece. It was built by order of Ishak Pasha in 1484 or 1487. The mosque has a reverse T plan common to early Ottoman architecture, the prayer hall is covered by two large domes, it has a portico covered by five smaller domes.

Alexander the Great Statue

The Monument of Alexander the Great is located in Nea Paralia in Thessaloniki, close to the sea. The monument stands 20 feet tall and represents Alexander the Great riding his horse named Bucephalus (or Voukefalas). Bucephalus is one of the most famous horses of antiquity. The monument to Alexander the Great was erected in 1973.

Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki

The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki is a museum in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. The is one of the largest in Greece, and the Central Museum of Northern Greece. It holds and interprets artifacts from the Prehistoric, Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods, mostly from the city of Thessaloniki but also from the region of Macedonia in general .The museum is housed in a building designed by architect Patroklos Karantinos . Built in 1962.

Arch of Galerius

It was commissioned as a monument by Emperor Galerius to celebrate the victorious campaign against the Sassanid Persians in 298 AD and their capture of their capital It is considered the best example of Roman architecture in the fourth century AD.

Aristotelous Square (Πλατεία Αριστοτέλους)

Aristotelous Square is the main city square of Thessaloniki, Greece and is located on Nikis avenue, in the city center. It was designed by French architect Ernest Hébrard in 1918, but most of the square was built in the 1950s.

Ataturk Museum

The Atatürk Museum is a historic house museum in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. It was built before 1870 and in 1935 the Thessaloniki City Council gave it to the Turkish State, which decided to convert it into a museum dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Until the Istanbul pogrom of 1955, the street in front of the house was named "Kemal Ataturk".

Bensousan Han

Bensousan Han is a building in Thessaloniki's upper Ladadika region, on Edessis street. The foundations and the ground floor were built since 1810 according to the Ottoman archives. Soon the first floor was complete and the building as a whole was a motel. It belonged to Samuel Bensousan, a Jewish citizen of Thessaloniki.

Bey Hamam (Paradise Baths)

Bey Hamam, alternatively known as the "Baths of Paradise", is a Turkish bathhouse located along Egnatia Street in Thessaloniki, east of Panagia Chalkeon. Built in 1444 by sultan Murad II, it was the first Ottoman bath in Thessaloniki and the most important one still standing throughout Greece. For this reason, it is a part of those few important vestiges of Ottoman culture remaining in Thessaloniki and Greece in general.

Bezesteni Ottoman Market

Bezesteni Ottoman Market is located in Venizelou Avenue just before Egnatia Av. Built by Sultan Mehmet II in 1455 – 1459 AD it is one of the oldest Ottoman buildings still standing in the center of Thessaloniki. It was used by the Ottomans for a number of commercial and financial activities thus making it a very important center for every region that had one.

Byzantine Bath of Thessalonica

The Byzantine Bath of the Upper Town in Thessaloniki is one of the few and best preserved of the Byzantine baths that have survived from the Byzantine period in Greece. It is located on the Theotokopoulou Street in the Upper Old Town of Thessaloniki. The baths date to the late 12th/early 13th century, and functioned continuously until 1940.

It is a children museum established in 1997 in Thessaloniki by a group of teachers, academics, museums and people who believe in volunteering. It is the second multidisciplinary museum in Greece, created to cater to the needs of children aged 4-15 and their families. The museum aims to provide an alternative approach in the field of education and entertainment .

‪Church of Agios Athanasios‬

It’s one of the most historic churches in Thessaloniki. during the Ottoman period (1430-1912), it was the very center of the Greek community. The most important Greek schools surrounded that iconic monument.In 1817 the older structure burnt down. The parishioners rebuilt their church within a year.The new building was consecrated on 15th November 1818, as testified by an inscription on the lintel of the southern portal.

Church of Panagia Chalkeon

The Church of Panagia Chalkeon is an 11th-century Byzantine church in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki. The church's well-preserved Byzantine architecture and testimony to the importance of Thessaloniki in early and medieval Christianity led it to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988 along with other Paleochristian and Byzantine monuments of Thessaloniki.

Church of Prophet Elijah

The Church of Prophet Elijah is a 14th-century church in Thessaloniki, Greece, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The church is located in the upper quarter of the old city, and dates to the Palaiologan period, but its original dedication is unknown. In Ottoman times, it was known as the Saraylı Mosque (Palace Mosque or Court Mosque).

Church of Saint Anthony

It was a privately owned chapel of the Metropolis of Thessaloniki and was used as an insane asylum. The ground plan shows a small two-story building with its eastern side adapted to the internal triangular cantilever of the Byzantine wall. It dates to the 18th century, with later additions to the open arcades to the south and west .
