9 April park

The 9th of April Garden is located on Tabukashvili Street in Tbilisi. It is the upper part of the former Alexander Garden. Alexander Garden is divided into two parts by Tabukashvili Street. The lower part is called Giorgi Leonidze Garden. Alexander Garden was founded in the XIX century and it is the first public recreation garden in Tbilisi. The 9th April Garden is full of green and it’s one of the best places to enjoy. There is a monument of Lado Gudiashvili in the garden. There are cafes and hotels around the park, where you can spend time and taste delicious food. There is also a theater on Atoneli and a national gallery near, where you can see the works of Georgian artists. You can also visit one of the cultural monuments of Tbilisi - Kashueti Church near Leonidze Garden.

Abanotubani

Aerial Tramway

Anchiskhati Basilica

The Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Fine Arts is one of the most reputed place to see Georgian art at its best! Art Palace of Georgia-Museum of Cultural History

Bank of Georgia

The Bank of Georgia headquarters is a building in Tbilisi, Georgia. It was designed by architects George Chakhava and Zurab Jalaghania for the Ministry of Highway Construction of the Georgian SSR and finished in 1975. The engineer was Temur Tkhilava. This 18-story building was acquired by the Bank of Georgia in 2007.

Cathedral of St. George

Chronicle of Georgia

The view of the Bridge of Peace from here, adds to the charm. Seeing the show here is an experience in itself while a walk around is quiet romantic. Take a leisurely park around the rest of the park later.

Davit Aghmashenebeli Avenue

Davit Agmashenebeli Avenue is one of the most interesting, diverse and popular streets in Tbilisi. It is often visited by locals as well as tourists. The architecture of the XIX-XX centuries makes this street very attractive. Here you can visit theaters, museums, a variety of restaurants and bars.

Fotografia Gallery is Tbilisi's only fine art photography gallery with a stunning collection of numbered and limited edition prints from local and international artists. Our prints are carefully curated by gallery director and photographer Gela Shekeladze and Elene Sidamonidze. The mission of the gallery is to promote Georgian photography to an international audience, and to support the work of our artists through exhibitions and print sales. Our gallery has also recently opened a lab to help educate and support the Georgian film photography community.

Georgian Museum of Fine Arts

Georgian Museum of Fine Arts is a private art museum located on the Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, Georgia. The construction broke ground in 2013 and is the only building in Georgia built purposely to house art exhibitions.

Georgian National Museum

Great Synagogue of Tbilisi

The Great Synagogue of Tbilisi is located on Kot Abkhazi Street in Tbilisi. It was built in 1910. The building is beautiful and noteworthy. The building is finished on the outside. Only the interior space is not fully completed. They also have to build a school.

Jan Shardeni St

Shardeni Street is a small pedestrian street in Tbilisi, in the Upper Kala district, between Vakhtang Gorgasali Square and Sioni Street. It has always been one of the centers of cultural and social life in Tbilisi. There are still many art galleries, salons of enamel vitreous and other handcrafted objects, as well as bars and restaurants in Chardini. It is one of the most popular, crowded, interesting and attractive places in Tbilisi.

Juma Mosque

Tbilisi Mosque (Friday Mosque) is located in Old Tbilisi, just below Narikala Fortress. It is currently the only Islamic shrine in the city. The stone building stands on a steep slope. The windows of the longitudinal walls are decorated with arches. Neo-Gothic and Islamic elements are harmoniously combined in its architecture. At the gate is an octagonal minaret that attracts attention from afar. The beautiful mosaic facade of the building attracts a lot of attention and attracts many visitors.

Leghvtakhevi Waterfall

Lichtakheve Waterfall - a waterfall in one of the geo-historical zones of Old Tbilisi, in Abanotubani, in the Lichtakheve Valley. The height of the waterfall is 22 meters. The waterfall and valley are named after the abundance of fig trees in these areas. It was first mentioned in the sources in 1429. Legftakhifi separated the oldest district of Tbilisi from the city of Kala itself (present-day Abanweb district).

The Virgin Mary Assumption Church of Metekhi, known simply as Metekhi, is a Georgian Orthodox Christian church located on the left bank of the river Kura. It sits on the Metekhi Cliff opposite the old town of Tbilisi.

Monument of St. George

The Freedom Monument, commonly known as the St. George Statue, is a memorial located in Tbilisi, Georgia, dedicated to the freedom and independence of the Georgian nation. Unveiled in 2006 in Tbilisi's central square, the monument of granite and gold is 35 metres high and is easily spotted from any point of the city.

Monument to Characters of Movie Mimino

The movie Mimino was a famous comedy made in 1977 that is iconic to the film history of Soviet Union. Its main lead ‘Mimino’ who aspires to be the pilot of an international airlines, created a special place in everybody’s heart and even today, the love of the movie is seen in the monument at the Avlabari square. Mother of Georgia

Mother of Kartli is a monumental statue in Tbilisi, which is one of the symbols of the city. "Mother of Georgia" is a symbol of Georgian national character: the statue holds a wine glass in one hand for guests and a sword for enemies in the other.

Mount Mtatsminda

Mount Mtatsminda (the name is translated as “Holy Mountain”) is located in the center of Tbilisi, on the right bank of the Kura River. It is one of the most popular sights of the capital, a kind of symbol of the city. This place is interesting both from the point of view of history and culture, as a natural phenomenon and as an excellent place for entertainment and recreation.

Mtatsminda Father David Church

Mtatsminda Father David Church is a 19th century monument located on Mtatsminda Street in the center of Mtatsminda. The first church on the site of today's temple was built at the end of the sixth century. In the sixth century, a group of church dignitaries from the Church of Antioch came to Georgia to strengthen the Christian faith. The interior of the church was painted in 1889. In 1891 a parish school was established near the church. Worship was also observed in the Mamadaviti temple during the enemy raid, while worship services were held throughout Tbilisi.

Narikala Fortress

Narikala Fortress Narikala or Narikala Fort is an ancient symbol of the defense of Tbilisi, and was founded in the 4th century, at the time when the city itself was founded, and has a charming architecture. Visitors to this fort walk along the Narikala Tourist Road, a 1,500-meter-long road that runs from the top of the hills down to the Old Town near the entrance to the Botanical Gardens, offering stunning views at every turn, and is especially fun at night when the city lights below.

The National Botanical Garden of Georgia, formerly the Tbilisi Botanical Garden, is located in Tbilisi, capital of Georgia, and lies in the Tsavkisis-Tskali Gorge on the southern foothills of the Sololaki Range. It occupies an area of 161 hectares and possesses a collection of over 4,500 taxonomic groups.

National Gallery

The Tbilisi Art Gallery, or the National Gallery is an art gallery located on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. Rike Concert Hall

The project site is located inside the green area called Rhike Park, in Tbilisi, Georgia. The building consists of two different soft shaped elements that are connected as a unique body at the retaining wall. Every shapes has his own function: The Musical Theatre and the Exhibition Hall. The north part of the building contains the Musical Theatre Hall (566 seats), the foyer and several facilities, together with technical spaces for theatre machinery and various storages. The Exhibition Hall opens his great entrance with a ramp that brings visitors from the street level. The Music Theatre Hall, on the contrary, soars from the ground and allows the users staying in the foyer and in the cafeteria to have a view to the river and the skyline of the city. It is a periscope to the city and looks towards the river framing the historic core of the Old Tbilisi.

Rike Park

Rike park is a beautiful, one of the most new artistically appointed park in the heart of the city. it’s very important, that the whole park, if seen from a bird’s eye view, creates a large-scale map of Georgia, as well as the meandering pathways from the borders depict various regions of Georgia. It is easy to access from the Old Town via the pedestrian famous The Bridge of Peace, which is in the list of “Amazing Bridges, that are the definition of architectural Masterpieces”.

Russian Church

Saint Louis. Alexander Nevsky Military Cathedral in Tbilisi is an Orthodox Christian cathedral in downtown Tbilisi, Georgia. The cathedral's new design became a benchmark for the emerging Byzantine style long before the cathedral was completed.

Sculpture Group Berikaoba

The Berikaoba Sculpture Group is a very cheerful, cheerful small sculpture dedicated to the masquerade performance of Berikaoba. The monument was erected back in 1981 and has long pleased tourists and residents of the city with its appearance. The six figures of the monuments are fervently spinning in a crazy fast dance, and there is a gap between the figures so that everyone can get into this round dance and feel part of it. Cheerful dancing figures happily see off winter and prepare for the meeting of spring.

Shangri La Casino

This casino is split over two floors with a slot machine room adjacent to the entrance that is open to all comers: the casino proper is upstairs. Registration is required but can be done on production of a passport. The main floor has roulette and card tables for a variety of games including Punto Banco, Black Jack and various incarnations of poker. Adjacent is a restaurant with views over the river, serving a mixed menu of Georgian and international dishes. There is also an exclusive, XO Room for the use of specially invited players only. Shota Rustaveli Avenue

Rustaveli Avenue, formerly known as Golovin Street, is the central avenue in Tbilisi named after the medieval Georgian poet, Shota Rustaveli. The avenue starts at Freedom Square and extends for about 1.5 km in length, before it turns into an extension of Kostava Street.

Shota Rustaveli monument

The Shota Rustaveli Monument and Fountain in Tbilisi pays homage to the legendary medieval Georgian poet, Shota Rustaveli (1160 – 1220). Rustaveli is revered as the pre-eminent poet of the Georgian Golden Age and is considered one of the greatest contributors to Georgian literature. His most notable work, 'The Knight in the Panther's Skin,' stands as a Georgian national epic poem.

Sofiko Chiaureli Statue

The sculpture of a man holding a horn in Tbilisi is modeled on an ancient Colchian statuette and is affectionately known as ‘Tamada’ (Georgian: თამადა) – toastmaster at Georgian feasts. The sculpture can be found at the beginning of Bambis Rigi Street near Shardeni Street (named after a French explorer Jan Chardin, who visited Tbilisi in 1863).

State Silk Museum

The National Silk Museum, one of the oldest silk museums in the world, aims to promote the understanding and appreciation of silk, its production and use through exhibitions and educational programs. In this museum, you will be able to learn about the history of the silk industry in the world, and how to make it, starting from silk insects, to weaving, and ending with the final product. Locals and tourists alike flock to this museum. It is easily accessible as it is centrally located in the heart of the city. Although it is a small museum, you will learn a lot from it, so don't miss it if you are in town!

Statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali

This monument to King Vakhtang Gorgasali is one of the most famous landmarks in the city, as this king is attributed to the founding of the city of Tbilisi. The true date of this foundation is not known, but scholars estimate that it was in the years between 447-522. Many legends are associated with this king, including that the city's hot springs fascinated him and founded the city around it. Vakhtang also reorganized the Georgian Orthodox Church, and therefore was canonized by the church.

St. Peter and Paul Apostles' Church

The St. Peter and St. Paul's Church is a Roman Catholic church in Tbilisi, the Georgian capital. Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass there during his visit to Georgia in October 1999.

Svobody Square

Freedom Square or Liberty Square is located in the center of Tbilisi, Georgia, at the eastern end of Rustaveli Avenue. Under Imperial Russia it was known as Erivansky or Paskevich-Erivansky Square While part of the Soviet Union, it was Beria Square and Lenin Square.

Tabor Monastery of the Transfiguration

A beautiful church and monastery in the heart of Tbilisi, one of the most accessible places in the city as it is located near the city center. If you have time, you should climb to the top of the monastery's tower and enjoy the splendid views of the city and the old town. It is a modern church that was built in 2002, and although it is modern, the architectural style of the building is very beautiful, in which you feel that you are in a medieval building. In the building you will find towers and vaulted ceilings, and inside you will find arches, many altars and beautiful paintings. Your visit to Tbilisi will be incomplete if you do not visit this remarkable building.

Tamada (Toastmaster) Statue

Bronze statue from the 7th century BC discovered during archaeological excavations in the city of Vani. This statue is the statue of a Tamada, a toastmaster.

Tbilisi AutoMuseum

Consisting of a small but impressive collection of 25 cars and 7 motorcycles rom the Soviet era, the Tbilisi Auto Museum is the only car museum not just in Georgia but in the Cauacaus region too! From ZAZ classics, vintage GAZ ‘Chaika’ models, Moskvitch cars, BMW bikes to Dnepr and Ural classics, the collection here is one that is rare to come across anywhere else in the world. The place also offers the vintage cars on rent!

Tbilisi Digital Space

“Art in digital format” is a new word in both – technology and culture. In a short period of time, the innovative vision of art has been able to interest people of all ages and tastes. The first digital art museum in Georgia was opened in 2019, and since then the space has received many visitors at various thematic exhibitions.

Tbilisi Funicular

The Funicular is perfect to sightsee as you ride up Mtatsminda. The original line covered a distance of 500 meters and was established in the early 20th century. The track was refurbished and re-opened in 2012 and runs over three station - the Chonquadze street, the Pantheon stop and the top of mountain Mtatsminda.

Tbilisi History Museum

The Tbilisi History Museum offers Tbilisi’s journey from the 19th century through old photos and models of homes and costumes. Tbilisi - J.Stalin's Underground Printing House Mu

Joseph Stalin was a leader of the communist party of the Soviet Union who played a major role in making the country powerful after World War II. Stalin used this secret printing house located underneath a residential house and published banned information and revolutionary ideas that further contributed to the Russian Revolution in the early 20th century. The access to the publication is only through a well and even though it needs heavy restoration, it still is quiet an experience to see and touch a historic site that changed not just the politics in Georgia but around the world too.

Tbilisi Open Air Museum of Ethnography

The Open Air Museum of Ethnography is located in Tbilisi at the Turtle Lake. It was founded in 1960. As of today, one of the most visited museums in Georgia includes a collection exceeding a hundred exhibits. However, the uniqueness of this museum is that the entire exhibition of the museum represents a kind of a Georgian village where every house and every estate are a reflection of the different eras of Georgian history.

Tbilisi Photography & Multimedia Museum

"Tbilisi Photography & Multimedia Museum (TPMM) is the first institution in Georgia entirely dedicated to contemporary image in its different forms - photography, new media, video. TPMM is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation founded in 2017 by a team of female professionals to whom independence in curatorial and project development choices is a key condition. TPMM promotes photography as a catalyst for social and cultural changes in Georgia and the South Caucasus region. The museum is located at the Stamba Hotel - an old Soviet-era publishing house that has been transformed into a boutique hotel."

Tbilisi's Antique Archaeological Museum

Museum used to house artifacts discovered in Tbilisi area, notably Delisi (Chalcolithic period, circa 5000-4000 BCE) and Treligorebi (Kura-Araxes culture, circa 3400-2000 BCE) archaeological sites. Collection was telling the history of 6000 years of continuous settlement in Tbilisi area. Nowadays, these collections are in the National Museum of Georgia.

Tbilisi's Jvari's Mama's Church

Jvari's Mama (St. Cross Church), constructed in the second half of the 5th century, resembles the church of the Lord’s tomb on Golgotha. For a long time, it was competing with the Georgian churches in Jerusalem. The existing building was constructed in the 16th century, next door to Norashen and Sioni (Zion) churches; in the first half of the 19th century it was repaired by the wish of the abbot Benedict (an episcopate of Bethlehem in Palestine).

Tbilisi Zoo

Tbilisi Zoo is located on Kostava Street. At the zoo you can visit both endemic species of the Caucasus and Georgia, as well as animals from around the world. There are about 300 species of animals, including: goat, niamor, birch, deer, roe deer, Colchis pheasant, Caucasian grouse, Caucasian ostrich, white rhino, white tigers, white lions, Ussurian tiger, wild African dogs and more. Most of the species living in the Tbilisi Zoo are already small in number in the wild. There is also an terrarium in the park, where you can meet a variety of amazing fish or reptiles. For zoo lovers, the zoo is really a very interesting place, here you will be able to get better acquainted with the animal world, their habits, see exotic species. The diversity of wildlife attracts children in particular, especially since there are children's attractions in the zoo. It is one of the most popular places in Tbilisi. If you want to spend the day in a diverse and at the same time cognitive way, you should definitely visit Tbilisi Zoo.

A 9-meter-high metal oak tree, installed on City Day (in May) in European Square, near the entrance to Rike Park in 2016. It is close to the lower cable car station. Turtle Lake

Turtle Lake is a direct English translation of Kus Tba, a small lake at the outskirts of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The other, less frequently used name of this lake is K'ork'i.

The Sioni Cathedral of the Dormition is a Georgian Orthodox cathedral in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Following a medieval Georgian tradition of naming churches after particular places in the Holy Land, the Sioni Cathedral bears the name of Mount Zion at Jerusalem.
